CAMERA MAPPING PROJECT
DOES YOUR BUSINESS CAMERA FACE THE STREET, SIDEWALK OR PARKING LOT?
WHAT: The business camera mapping program is a simple way to identify the areas of the business district that are covered by privately owned, operated and managed video cameras that face public streets, sidewalks and alleys.
Old Fourth Ward Business Association has over 40 cameras mapped which helped solve 5 crimes!!
WHO: Business owners that have video cameras that face outside of their businesses and show public right of ways.
WHY: To create a centralized system for security camera coverage in the business community. This effort assists Atlanta Police Department with quickly tracking down footage pertinent to crimes that affect our business district.
HOW: Businesses send screenshots of photos from cameras. This area gets mapped on the Google Earth map with name of contact and phone number. No footage is given to APD or linked to VIC. APD uses this system to figure out who has footage then contacts them directly for footage.
Help East Atlanta Business Association MAP all the public facing CAMERAS in EAV to help APD solve crimes in our neighborhood!
