We're starting to see more opportunities opening up with the State COVID regulations being lifted and vaccinations being readily available. Please be aware that the mass vaccine sites have changes to the dose appointments

We're not over COVID yet, so please be mindful and keep adhering to the updated CDC guidelines

Also, the City of Atlanta has opened up permits for special events up to 9,999 attendees. So expect to see festivals this summer.

‘The Valet’ is prepping like crazy and will be shooting all day Wednesday and Thursday the 12th and 13th on Flat Shoals from Glenwood to Metropolitan.  All businesses WILL BE OPEN and you may access the Argosy/ Earl lots by traveling south on Flat Shoals as well as the entrance to the lots behind Thai Sushi.

    • Don’t forget that they will be returning on June 9th and 10th for filming on Glenwood. If you haven’t checked out the set at Dollie’s you should definitely swing by and see what they’ve done. Movie magik ‍♂️   .
‘Step Up’ filming continues today on Braeburn Circle from Clifton to Josephine. I have not seen any more permits come across the wire for this show but I’ll update if anything pops up.

Please hit me up if you see something filming I haven’t noted.
    • Anything not shooting on public property isn’t required to obtain a permit so it might slip past me.
    • I’m trying to build a Rolodex of locations scouts and would at least like to swing by and drop a card.

SBA will begin accepting applications via the application portal on Monday, May 3 at 12 p.m. EDT. The application portal will remain open to any eligible establishment until all funds are exhausted.

    • Review the sample applicationprogram guide and cross-program eligibility chart on SBA COVID-19 relief options. SBA also added screenshots of the application portal that are available here.

The current westbound lane closure of Glenwood Avenue from the westerly driveway of Branan Towers to Moreland Ave will remain in place through April 9, 2021, as weather permits and with no unforeseen construction challenges.

The detour route for the Glenwood Avenue westbound closure is as follows:

    • Turn left onto Brownwood Avenue SE

    • Turn right onto Portland Avenue SE

    • Turn right onto Moreland Avenue SE to Glenwood Avenue SE.

Current plans call for “Businesses Open” signs (see attached sample) to be installed this week, possibly tomorrow (Thursday, February 25), near your businesses on Glenwood Avenue.

    • The closure is needed to accommodate safe construction activities, as well as large truck and equipment staging in the area.

Work planned during the closure includes:

    - IN FRONT OF THE TIRE SHOP

    • Driveway demolition, grading, concrete pouring and curing

    • Catch basin construction

    • Sidewalk demolition, grading, concrete pouring and curing

IN FRONT OF THREE (3) BUSINESSES ON GLENWOOD AVENUE BETWEEN THE TIRE SHOP AND BRANAN TOWERS

    • Removal of existing driveway curb and installation of new curb

    • Sidewalk demolition, grading, concrete pouring and curing

[NOTE: Currently, work requiring the sidewalk closure in front of the three (3) Glenwood Avenue businesses is scheduled to take place between March 15-26, 2021, weather permitting and with no unforeseen construction challenges. Compensation is not provided for disruptive activities associated with public-funded infrastructure improvements.]
