Five finalists are selected to compete on stage in front of a panel of guest investor judges where we invest $120,000 in exchange for 7% of your company.

Rolling: Applications for theClubhou.se "Make Startups" Entrepreneurship Accelerator Program

This program offers classes beginning every couple of months in a variety of locations, meets once or twice a week, and is followed by six months of weekly mentoring which completes the full Make Startups Certificate of Entrepreneurship. The program is free if you qualify for funding through Atlanta's Workforce Development. Please add "Zane Access" in the section "where you heard about the program".

Rolling: QuickBooks Restaurant Relief Initiative in partnership with the Georgia Restaurant Association Foundation

Through the QuickBooks Restaurant Relief Initiative, restaurants with an annual net revenue of less than $250,000 can apply for a $5,000 grant to cover payroll and operating expenses to help employ and retain staff.

The City of Atlanta is currently considering a second round of TSPLOST funding for $300M as well as a second infrastructure bond of $400M to support necessary infrastructure investments. 

At this point the list is simply in draft form, and given that the City of Atlanta has more than $3B in infrastructure funding needs over the next 20 years, that list may change before it's formally voted upon by City.  

We need EAV supporters to participate in the City's upcoming community information meetings over the next 2 weeks to speak up about the need for projects in our neighborhood.  The meeting for the NE quadrant of the city will be Thursday, November 18 from noon to 1 pm and again from 6 to 7 pm.

Please use this City of Atlanta Zoom link to call in during the meetings and show your support for Little 5 Points and our infrastructure needs. We will continue to keep you posted on the approval process as these lists move through the City. As of now, the TSPLOST and Infrastructure Bond papers will be submitted to appropriate Council committees the week of November 29, 2021.

20th Century will be filming scenes for the new series of “Ordinary Joe ” in your neighborhood. 

• Approximate hours of filming will be from 7:00am- 9:00pm. All Hours subject to change due to weather and schedule changes.

**Please note- We will be filming in the school parking lot and on Mary Dell Dr. SE will have a full road closure on Mary Dell Dr, directly in front of our location. All residents will be able to access their homes and all emergency vehicles will have access. **

• On our Filming day (09/8) we will require a FULL road closure of Mary Dell Dr SE be- tween Fayetteville Rd SE and Bouldercrest Dr SE, as permitted by the city.

Base Camp, Crew/Extras Parking

• Our base camp, crew parking, and larger equipment trucks will be on private property.

Security
Off duty Atlanta Police Officers will be assisting us with on street parking and traffic control. We are working with the city of Atlanta to attain the permit for filming.

It's almost time to Strut!

The East Atlanta Strut is back and it’s neighborhood-wide on Saturday, September 25, from noon to 6 p.m. This year’s presenting sponsors are the Southern Feedstore – a food hall debuting at the Strut! -- and The Marbut – a retail and residential complex opening in early 2022. The Strut also features the beers of Creature Comforts Brewing, including Classic City Lager.  Beneficiaries of this all-volunteer-run festival include the Free99Fridge project and Pet Buddies Atlanta.

Here’s how you can Strut:

Volunteer: We are completely volunteer-run and all our proceeds go back into next year’s Strut and to other community nonprofits. 

Sponsor: We can get your company’s name in front of thousands of people.

Compete in a crazy contest: Highlights include the Strut Your Bake rum-dessert bake-off and the Leaf Blower Madness Tournament. Tasters and spectators are welcome. 

Plant seeds of fun: Strut Your Garden or come Strut through some gardens.
